Born in Savannah, David Harbuck has always kept music at the heart of his life. At the age of five, he discovered Elvis Presley and spent his early years learning to play guitar. At 17, Harbuck left home and served in the U.S. Navy for six years. When he returned at 23, he held a variety of jobs before becoming a full-time musician in 1989. In the early 1990s, Harbuck fronted several local bands—including Take 3, Cry Wolf, and Southern Comfort—before launching his solo career in 1993.
