On the Road with Twelve Pearls: A Night to Remember in Ponca City

Well kids, it was time to take the rock show on the road—so we packed up the trusty ol' trailer, cranked the stereo, and rolled into Ponca City, Oklahoma. Our destination? A dual-venue hotspot called The Rocking Horse/Planet Rock. While “Twelve Pearls” had played Ponca once before, it was the first time hitting the stage there for both Brandon and me. As usual, we had no idea what to expect from the club. That’s part of the thrill, right?

When we pulled up, we were pleasantly surprised. The venue was clean, welcoming, and buzzing with energy. The front half, aptly named The Rocking Horse, was decked out for the cowboy crowd—think boots, hats, and plenty of two-steppin’. There, our new friends Western Justice kept the country dancefloor alive all night. But our mission lay in the back—the raucous, neon-lit realm known as Planet Rock. That was our zone. The rock zone.

After loading in and setting up our gear, the venue staff recommended we grab dinner at the Rusty Barrel. We took their advice, and man, were we glad we did. The food was top-notch—real stick-to-your-ribs kind of stuff that fueled us up to go hard all night. Shoutout to the staff there for taking care of the band like we were royalty.

As showtime crept closer, we each got into our pre-gig rituals. I chilled out with baby-girl, soaking in the vibe. Brandon was busy charming the local ladies. Andrew? He had his eyes on the same crowd, while Kit found his groove swapping stories with the locals at the bar.

The real magic started when Andrew threw on some vintage KISS videos from the 1980s before our set. Something about that glam-rock energy must’ve hit just right, because once we hit the stage, it was electric. Andrew said my performance was "extra entertaining" that night—blame it on the inspiration, or maybe it was the face-melting solos. Either way, we brought it.

The crowd at Planet Rock matched our energy beat for beat. From the first chord to the final encore, the place was alive. It wasn’t just another gig—it was one of those nights that remind you why you do this in the first place. The late-night drive, the sweat, the noise, the connection with the crowd—it’s all part of the Pearl’s journey.

And trust me, Ponca City won’t forget us anytime soon. Neither will we.
