Band Story

Cool Ass Cris, hailing from California, emerged in the mid-1990s as a pivotal figure in the West Coast hip-hop scene. He began his career with the platinum-selling group Digital Underground, where he honed his musical and business acumen alongside artists like Shock G, Money B, 2Pac, and The Luniz.

During this period, Cool Ass Cris expanded his influence by opening for prominent acts such as Too Short, Mack 10, and Sir Mix-a-Lot, further solidifying his presence in the hip-hop community.

In 2000, demonstrating entrepreneurial spirit, he founded his own label, Contagiouz Entertainment. Under this banner, he released music from his group T.M.F. (Tha Muthafuckaz). Their debut album, Chill Wit Us!, featured 15 tracks that resonated within the local scene, establishing a dedicated fan base. The subsequent release, Skool Of Hard Knocks!, reinforced T.M.F.'s reputation and showcased their unique style.

Building on the momentum of these group projects, Cool Ass Cris embarked on a solo venture, culminating in his debut album, Tha Ghetto Messiah, released in 2010. This project aimed to challenge the prevailing trends in the music industry, advocating for authenticity and a return to the roots of hip-hop.

Throughout his career, Cool Ass Cris has remained committed to producing genuine hip-hop music, striving to inspire both artists and listeners to embrace originality and resist the commercialization of the genre.

His contributions continue to influence the hip-hop community, emphasizing the importance of staying true to one's artistic vision.
