Malynda Hale

Band Story

Malynda Hale is a 21-year old singer/songwriter from Goleta, Ca, a small suburban town outside the city of Santa Barbara. She is a recent graduate of Azusa Pacific University where she received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music Vocal Performance and minor in Musical Theatre. She developed her passions for singing/performing at the young age of five. Having grown up in the St. Paul A.M.E. Church of Santa Barbara, her first exposure to music was the genre of Gospel. From then on, she developed a love for R&B, Soul, Pop, Rock, Contemporary, Musical Theatre and Classical Music. Malynda began taking piano lessons at the age of 7 and has been playing ever since. At the age of 12, she decided to combine her piano skills and gift of singing to compose her very first song. Since then, Malynda has written well over 30 original compositions, both instrumental/classical tunes and R&B/Pop/Rock songs with lyrics. Malynda has received many awards and recognitions for her accomplishments as a singer and performer including: Best Lead Actress in a Musical (2001 & 2003), California Performing Arts Scholar for Music and Theatre, Santa Barbara City and Parks Recreation Outstanding Talent Award and Best Voice Choir Member. Several years ago she won first place in the Earl Warren Showground Vocal Competition, beating semi-professional singers in the city of Santa Barbara. In the summer of 2004 Malynda had the privilege of singing with the popular 80's Rock band "Foreigner", for the Black and Blue Ball Fundraiser for Muscular Dystrophy. At the end of 2004 Malynda became a member of A.S.C.A.P (American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers) and is now a registered songwriter through this organization. Malynda recently finished her first independent album From My Heart to Yours with producer Stewart Carraras at 7th Level Productions and is in the process of recording a brand new EP with Stem Cell Music. In June of 2007 she made her Las Vegas Debut as the opening act for Tyrone Wells and Ernie Halter at the House of Blues in Mandalay Bay. She was also the headliner at Mist Bar and Lounge in the historic Treasure Island Hotel and Casino. She was recently appointed as the new spokesperson for Avanya Mineral Cosmetics and will begin work with them this year. In August of 2007 she was featured in the Unsigned Artist Showcase on Westsidewill Radio. Her songs " No More Tears" and"Crush on You" are currently in the top 20 songs on The Caneman Radio Station 1580 AM in Los Angeles. She is managed by Mimi Medel and Joe Steele of Electric Shoes Music Group based in Los Angeles..
