Band Story
Soft Targets is an indie pop band from Tallahassee, Florida, formed in January 2004 by singer/guitarist Jesse Corry and bassist/keyboardist Nathan Sadler. The two met at Florida State University's Music School, where Sadler was a student and Corry was a songwriter seeking a quiet place to work. They were later joined by drummer Steven Gillespie, formerly of Tallahassee pop band The Ums, completing the trio.
Soft Targets released their debut album, Frequent Flyer, in 2005, followed by their sophomore LP, Heavy Rainbow, in 2008. The latter album was recorded with Atlanta-based producer/engineer Tim DeLaney at Electron Gardens Studio and Southern Tracks Recording. Heavy Rainbow showcases the band's evolution, featuring complex guitar lines, fresh hooks, intricate arrangements, and a blend of classic pop influences reminiscent of ELO and Todd Rundgren.
