Macrophone

Band Story
Macrophone: Bulgaria’s Britpop Revivalists with a Vision of Their Own
Hailing from the heart of Europe—Bulgaria—Macrophone is a four-piece Britpop-inspired rock band defined by deep camaraderie, unwavering authenticity, and a relentless pursuit of individuality in sound.
The band was officially born in the summer of 2006, but its roots stretch back to the winter of 2004, when founding members Nikola and Alan first began shaping their musical language. After years of searching for the right players who shared their vision and passion, they were joined by Yasen on bass and Mozart on drums and vocals. With that, Macrophone was complete—and more importantly, whole.
Making rock music with integrity is no easy feat, especially when striving to stand apart in a crowded and often homogenized genre. But for Macrophone, this very struggle defines their philosophy. It's not just about creating songs—it's about crafting a sound that dares to be different while still nodding to the greats.
Their genre of choice—Britpop—might evoke echoes of Manchester and Camden Town, but Macrophone isn’t simply echoing the past. Instead, they reinterpret the emotional pulse and melodic charm of the genre through their own lens, layering in Eastern European grit, soul, and atmosphere. The result is a fresh take that both honors tradition and pushes beyond it.
With Alan on vocals and guitar, Nikola weaving textured guitar lines, Yasen locking in the low end, and Mozart delivering both rhythmic precision and harmonic layers, the band's chemistry is unmistakable. Every rehearsal and recording session is not just about music, but about the shared belief in something more—a collective artistic identity.
Currently, Macrophone is deep in the creative process, working on their debut album and launching their official website to bring their music to a wider audience. The message is simple: stay tuned—because what’s coming next is worth the wait.
Macrophone invites listeners to not just hear their music, but to feel it. To believe in difference. To find beauty in honesty. To enjoy the songs—and everything they stand for.
