The Goodges

Band Story
Goodges: A British Rock Journey with Fire, Reflection, and Rebirth
Forged in the fires of the UK’s live circuit and tempered through years of raw experience, Goodges is a rock band that has spent the better part of a decade earning their stripes—and now, they’re ready to strike harder than ever before.
At the heart of the band is M, a seasoned bassist with deep roots in the industry. From early days working with numerous professional bands to a standout stint under the wing of Ex-Wildhearts management, M's journey has been anything but ordinary. That period also brought him into the orbit of Big Mick Hughes—Metallica’s world-renowned live sound engineer—whose influence still echoes in the band’s commitment to sonic excellence. Add to that M’s background in sound engineering training, and it’s clear: Goodges doesn't just play music—they craft it.
Formed six years ago, Goodges began as a gritty, gig-hardened rock outfit, cutting their teeth in clubs and venues across the UK. Their early work includes the Firemore Beach EP (2003) and the acoustically rich full-length album Can U Listen (2005). While both were fan favorites at shows and on their website, the band always viewed these early recordings as stepping stones—chapters in a much larger story.
Now, that story turns a new page.
Currently in the studio, Goodges is working on what they call their “most ambitious and evolved” album yet—one that captures the full weight of their experience and the clarity of their renewed vision. With plans to release it worldwide via their own independent label, Britrock Records, later in 2008, the band is ready to shed the past and introduce a sound that’s sharper, stronger, and truly representative of who they’ve become.
Rooted in classic British rock tradition but not bound by it, Goodges fuses melody, grit, and thoughtful lyricism with a modern edge. For fans of authentic rock who believe in the power of growth, passion, and perseverance, Goodges offers a soundtrack to the climb—and the triumph.
