Hollywood & Vine

Band Story

?If Dwight Yoakham covered a Glenn Danzig version of a Gin Blossoms song?? ?is how Las Vegas guitar virtuoso, Johnny Douglas, described Frederick Ryland Fisher, Jr.?s brainchild, Hollywood & Vine and their debut release, One Way Ticket. This record displays Fisher's continually developing songwriting ability on the rise ? as well as the versatility in the group overall, consisting of Joey Hernandez on bass and Mike Croschere on guitar. There are shades of various genres on One Way Ticket ranging from Country to 80's Hair Rock to 90's Pop Rock. This gives some insight to the band's wide array of influences. No matter what one?s own taste, whether it be shredding solos, catchy hooks, pop-tastic choruses, etc. - chances are, there's something on this record for everyone. This album's All Killer - No Filler... As far as front men go, Fisher has been compared to the likes of Jim Morrison (The Doors), Elvis Presley, Glenn Danzig (Danzig, Samhain, The Misfits), Roy Orbison, and Dion Dimucci (The Belmonts), to name a few. With his on-stage charisma, antics, and interaction with his growing audience, the 22-year-old is very much so on his way to bringing rock ?n roll back with his entertaining live rock ?n? roll show and his debut release, One Way Ticket. Raised on the classic songs of yesterday, while at the same finding his own tastes growing up, Fisher gives us a flavor intermingled with many delectable sounds of his unique performing and writing style. These songs, no matter what their lineage, are not quite like anything preceding them. Not pretentious or proud, this is storytelling with a great hook and a tempting edge. Fisher currently resides with his band in Chicago, IL. Hollywood & Vine performs constantly every weekend in the club circuit. Fisher also performs acoustic performances during the week in the area. In addition to his busy performing schedule, he plays on the West coast a couple times a year in West Hollywood and Hollywood, CA at notable venues like the Rainbow Bar & Grill, Pig & Whistle, The Roxy, & Whiskey A Go-Go. Hollywood & Vine has also opened for members of Guns ?N? Roses, Quiet Riot, and Beautiful Creatures, to name a few. They are currently in the studio working on their second album, Learning to Fly. Look for a release in the early part of 2009. ~Branden McKaye, 2008 Album Info: One Way Ticket is now available on ITunes, E-Music, Verizon V Cast, Napster, and most other major digital retail outlets.
