Band Story

Grayson Wray Project is a band whose members are as follows.
Grayson is the leader, songwriter and producer. He also sings and plays guitar and various other instruments.
He and the band live in Los Angeles where it is easy to get lost. The city is so spread out that people are very isolated. He tends to be a loner but really does like people.
On his down time he likes to watch dvds, listen to music and read.
A lot of inspiration comes from this down time. He is very receptive and is always looking for new ideas that inspire him.
His favorite color is lavender and his entire interior house is that color.
Angie Donkin plays drums and sings. She keeps a solid beat and is a wonderful singer. She has done music since she was 4 years old. She is from the Bay area originally. Angie sang on most of Grayson's earlier albums and is now a full memeber of the band.

Maura Murphy- Barrosse is a singer. Maura is a wonderful performer with a background as a dancer and actress. She is a very enthusiastic person who always has a smile.
She is from Chicago where she sang in her fathers band when she was 4 years old.

Ross Barkstrom plays bass. Ross is a very talented musician who also plays guitar.
He is also from Chicago like Grayson and Maura.
Ross is a big movie fan one of his favorite movie is "Memento".

Raffaele Cannizzaro plays keyboard and flute. He is the newest member. Raf, as we call him, is from Italy. He loves California.
He is a wonderful musician who can play jazz and classical.


Grayson and the band have a wide range of music influences which includes Classical music, The Beatles, The Beach Boys, Neil Finn, David Bowie, Pink Floyd, Ten CC, Cameo, The Commodores, Death Cab For Cutie, The Killers, The Shins, Art of Noise, Postal Service Sheryl Crow, Talking Heads, Depche Mode, NIN, Moody Blues, Jethro Tull, Of Monteal, Air, The Flaming Lips, Cornelius, Elliot Smith and Bjork.

Grayson Wray has now released six albums. All of them have recieved a lot of airplay all over the world. College, internet and satilite radio have been very interested in the music.
There has been many great reviews as well.
All of the albums could be talked about but here are some examples on one of them.
"Picasso's Dream" was played in heavy rotation on WRAS, Georgia State University for 6 weeks getting up to #11 and was as high as # 2 on WZMB, in North Carolina. Artist of the day March 5 on Garage Band .com, artist of the month of April, Radio X, artist of the week April 8, Wizard Radio.
