Brett Kingswell & Jackfish River
Band Story

A product of small town Ontario, Canadian rock musician Brett Kingswell began his musical journey in his early 20?s, after embracing an acoustic guitar for the first time, resulting in a very natural path that would shape his life forever.

A soulful singer/songwriter, dynamic performer, and individual, Brett?s fierce dedication and love of music shine through in his unique brand of country laced rock. Traveling locally and abroad as a professional musician and actor/model, Brett?s many experiences have shaped the landscape for his infectious lyrics, trademark sultry voice and unique musical maturity.

Consumed with passion for music, Brett was signed to NYC record label 5 Points Records in 2003 immediately after penning and recording his first songs with his first project Carnival Divine. The result was a powerful debut album produced by Grammy winning engineers Ron Allaire (Keith Richards, Steely Dan) & Jon Mover (Joe Satriani, Alice Cooper), compelling performances across Canada and the US, and original material showcased on US National television.

After some time performing, writing and recording with producer Doug Fury (guitarist, Bif Naked) on Canada?s west coast, Brett has returned to Toronto in early 2008 and assembled his new project, Jackfish River; a “Northern Rock” experience comprised of riffy rock, a quirky twist of country, a dash of the blues, deep-driving hooks, and the unmistakable vocals of Brett. Songs like “Came to Fight” have fans chanting it?s chorus after one listen, while intense acoustic pieces like Brett?s interpretation of Alanis Morissette?s “Uninvited” reveal the intimate side of this spirited artist.

An engaging and eclectic group of some of Canada?s most talented and interesting musicians, Jackfish River?s Brett “Jackfish” Kingswell, (vocals, guitar) Shane “Shakin? Jamaican”Forrest (lead guitar), Rob “Reverend Funk” Melvin (bass), and Leo “Meximus” Zayas (drums) drive this must see experience, delighting fans with energetic, entertaining and memorable performances, including 2008 shows at North by Northeast, Indie Week, and opening for Edwin of I Mother Earth, to name a few. With a rapidly growing base of devoted fans, Brett Kingswell & Jackfish River, are making major waves in the rock music scene.

With a busy schedule of Canadian dates on the horizon, catch Brett live with Jackfish River, or at a solo acoustic performance. With great confidence and expectations for the future, Brett?s commitment to his art and dedication towards his career have him reaching for the stars and beyond.
