Band Story

The “Bill Wright Band”, one of Colorado’s hottest acts, plays a high-energy blend of "Old School/New School" Funk & Roll & Rockin' Blues! “BWB” has been a fixture in the Denver music scene for over six years, entertaining every kind of audience in every kind of venue. Their fourth CD, "Outer Limits", has just been released. Recorded in Colorado, it was mastered in Petaluma, California by award winning engineer, Gregg Schnitzer, and is already gathering momentum. Locally, in Denver, they can be heard on "99.5 The Mountain". In addition, their music is being played in Holland, Belgium, on 2 Australian radio stations, Kooba Radio in London, WSVNRadio and 440Music.com internet radio stations in Chicago, SaveSurgeRadio.com in Pennsylvania to name just a few. Their CD's have been getting positive reviews, and the band is exited about the future.

The core of the band is, Bill Wright, guitars and vocals, Geno Sirokman, bass and vocals, and Carl Holz on drums. Kerry Paige, sax and wind synth, is a long time and frequent participant in most recordings and performances.

BILL WRIGHT- Guitars, Vocals, Harmonica, Songwriting & Phone

Bill originally hails from Connecticut, but has lived in Colorado for over twenty years. He’s been a major player in the Denver area music scene since the Eighties. His finger-burning solos and wild stage antics are a featured aspect of the band, yet, only part of his repertoire. This versatility is what sets Bill apart. His favorite food is cheeseburgers & fries, and he is a proud Broncos season ticket holder.

GENO SIROKMAN- 4-String Bass, Vocals, Songwriting & Computer

Geno is the “local boy” hailing from Salida, Colorado. He honed his skills for five years in the deserts of Albuquerque as well as five years in the jungles of L.A. before coming back home. Geno, too, has made a name for himself locally. His funky, poppin’ bass style is the perfect bottom to this band. Not only can he funk, he’s definitely the best dancer in the band. His favorite food is Jaegermeister, and he is also a proud Broncos ticket holder.

CARL HOLZ - Drums, Percussion

Carl is cool, but Geno is cooler. Carl's back after his tour of Outer Mongolia and brings some of  the tricks he picked up while over there. After playing with Fredi and the Soul Shakers and doing some gigs with Johnny Vaughan & Derek Terrebelle, he decided to take some time off to raise Alpacas. Unfortunately, that didn't work out too well, so he's back as part of one of the top rhythm sections in town. 

KERRY PAIGE - Saxophones, Wind Synth and Woodland Noises

Kerry hails from Montana, where he was raised by mutant elk, so horns have always been a part of his life.  He migrated to Denver when his crops failed and joined up with the legendary Mondo Bizzarro.  He currently teaches, repairs horns and when not playing with BWB, can be seen all around town with a variety of acts.  Kerry's favorite food is mac n' cheese and he really doesn't understand American football.
