Band Story

Rahat is an up-and-coming rapper from The Bronx and born in Shylet , Bangladesh. Rahat first began developing his interest in music the summer before his freshman year of high school by listening to his favorite rock bands, including Linkin Park. Though at first he tried his hand at becoming a singer, he realized his smooth yet staccato voice was better suited for rapping and speaking the word of the street. He soon began dabbling in producing music as well, using various techniques such as sampling and original compositions as well. When Rahat first began rapping, he admits it sounded more like "reading words off of a page really fast" and possibly even worse than that because "I had the world's crappiest mic to record on." Rahat's flow has now evolved into something more mellow and frankly, more sexy, two traits that are enough to wow any crowd though he modestly confides to "still practicing it" for good measure. Rahat has collaborated int he past with artists such as Dave Shady, Jake Zhang, Haze, White Tiga, Jay Red, and ..skArr*, as well as other artists. He recently put out his first mixtape, but alludes to being more than a bit unhappy with it -- "I've learned from the mistakes and hope to develop even better tracks." Rahat has recently been working at the historic Legend's studio, a place that has been graced by hip-hop heavyweights such as the Notorious BIG, Tupac, Jay-Z and many others. Rahat credits his main source of inspiration to as his girlfriend of 3 years, Mun, a singer who has been featured on his songs. He goes on to say that his everyday life is also a huge source of inspiration and he often tries to "incorporate different styles" into his music. His biggest aspiration? -- "To make it as an independent artist and follow in the footsteps of other indie artists such as Immortal Technique and Rakim". Rahat also hopes to continue working as a producer in order to help other artists in the game. Rahat credits music as his life and has devoted his life to music
