Band Story

Dean Acevedo has been immersed in music since childhood. As a teenager, he became involved in the pop music scene, performing with local bands while also studying music at the college level. His passion for songwriting emerged about a decade ago, starting with home recordings that eventually led to the release of his debut studio album in 2000.

That first CD quickly gained traction, especially within Chicano radio circles, and soon caught the attention of stations across the United States and internationally. Songs like “Como Friegas Mujer” and “Jail for Christmas” resonated with a wide audience, even earning him an unexpected and loyal following within the prison community.

Dean's music found further success on the digital front. He topped the Tex-Mex charts on mp3.com and ranked highly on other internet platforms, carving out a distinct space for himself in the online music world. His songs have also been featured in mainstream media, including the MTV shows Made and Trailer Fabulous, and more recently, in the documentary film America the Punchline, which includes both “Como Friegas Mujer” and “Lazy Days.”

Currently, Dean is performing solo acoustic sets and collaborating with the talented Garza family, who feature prominently on his latest album, “Chicali.” This new release is generating strong buzz within the Tejano and country music scenes, continuing his reputation for blending heartfelt songwriting with rich cultural influence.

Expanding his creative pursuits, Dean has recently ventured into the world of acting, making appearances in both television and film. Whether on stage, in the studio, or in front of the camera, Dean Acevedo continues to evolve as a multifaceted artist with a voice that resonates across genres and audiences.
