DROHAN
Band Story
"Smiling Shyly" was the first song we wrote, and we did so at a party. The theme evolved from the chicks at the party, into cars and guns, but don't those all go together anyway? Any guy who says they started playing in a band for the music instead of the chicks, is lying. It eventually started the band "Seven Story Redhead", which would change it's line up several times over the years, each new member fitting oddly better than the last, until it finally landed on the West Coast as "DROHAN". Currently based out of Vancouver BC, DROHAN is a four piece rock band comprised of three Albertans and a Brit. Often compared to The Tragically Hip and Queens of the Stone Age, DROHAN is a youthful but experienced group with a mixture of original material and cover songs that always captivate their audiences. Everyone who sees them comments on the intensity of their live stage presence. Bryce Drohan works the mic and his guitar like pit bull on a chain. Jeremy John Butler stomps and slings the bass, while Orphan Annie's keyboard style introduces powerful melodies. All of which are cemented by three part harmonies and a machine gun tight rhythm section manned by Mr. Rhys Pickup. With an energetic but sexy stage presence, DROHAN always provides sonic rock 'n' roll satisfaction with an upbeat and danceable groove. The Basement Tapes was their debut, and they've just released their self-titled sophomore album, both through I-tunes. With two videos on youtube and a third on the way, these Vancouver rockers are a must watch for 2010. Check out their epk online : http://www.reverbnation.com/drohan
