The rebuild on the local development server is moving toward a faster, cleaner, more search-friendly platform that supports artist discovery, restores legacy archives, and strengthens visibility for indie music, music history, artist profiles, and long-term catalog preservation.

A major goal of the work is to make sure independent music is not lost to deleted accounts, broken platforms, or short-lived uploads that disappear over time. 440Music is being built as a permanent home for indie music history, where artists can keep their catalog, fans can rediscover older work, and the platform can help protect the cultural record of independent music for future generations. The current registration and verification flow already supports that vision by keeping new accounts pending until verified, which helps prevent fake users while preserving the integrity of the site’s growing archive. In that sense, the technical rebuild and the preservation mission are connected: the site is being designed to safeguard the past while supporting the future of indie music.
