Fortitude
Band Story
Beginning in early 2004, this experimental alternative-rock trio has made tremendous strides in developing a sound all their own. With their creative use of an acoustic guitar, breaking all tradition and "acoustic" customs, Fortitude has humbly reinvented the acoustic sound, and pushed the progression of rock 'n' roll.
Proving themselves to be as edgy as the electric big boys, however, is far from what Fortitude is about. They aim for a targeted outcome from their experiment- to rather bridge the gap between electric and acoustic tones by combining the texturous ambience you would find in A Perfect Circle; the quirky, experimental flavor you taste in Incubus; and the spacey, jam-based feel that elevates you while you spin your Pink Floyd vinyl. These are the elements Fortitude proudly utilizes to take the listener on a rollercoaster ride of atmospheric riffs with ambient, swelling layers of trance-like melody and polyrhythms- all accompanied with solid, catchy roots rock and vocals that aid to the dark yet somehow uplifting mood. Then they roll it all together with beautiful acoustic overtones into a tasty, blended wrap of new rock. Give it a try. Chew it slowly. It's a different dish, and that?s why you?ll like it.
